Our History
Valley Pools & Spas had somewhat humble beginnings, starting in Hilary and Bonnie Berczyk's garage and home in 1974. Shown below is a timeline of Valley's growth from a service-only business to a nationally-recognized, award-winning company selling, installing and servicing all of the products we carry. Today, Valley Pools & Spas is able to handle virtually any service need from installing your pool, to delivering a new spa to servicing your filter with our 18-vehicle fleet.

| 2007 | BBB Integrity Award Winner. Awarded an APSP Gold Award of Excellence for Residential In-Ground Pools. |
| 2006 | Awarded two APSP Award of Excellence for Residential In-Ground Pools and two APSP Awards of Excellence for Above-Ground Pools. |
| 2005 | Awarded a BBB plaque for upholding business ethics in the public interest through 14 years of Better Business Bureau membership. Awarded an APSP Gold Award of Excellence for In-Ground Vinyl Lined Pools. BBB Integrity Award Finalist. |
| 2004 | Awarded two APSP Gold Award of Excellence for Movable Spas and two APSP Gold Award of Excellence for In-Ground Residential Pools. |
| 2003 | New store opened in Hudson, WI. Awarded the "Challenge Cup Trophy" and "Top Marquis Sales Nation-Wide." |
| 2002 | New store opened in Brainerd. Awarded the "Quest of Excellence." |
| 2001 | "Make A Wish" awarded Valley Pools & Spas highest MN honor for in-kind (spas and pool) donations and money to the foundation. |
| 2000 | Moved into a beautiful new and larger store one block west of current location on Cliff Road in Burnsville. Awarded the "Quest of Excellence." |
| 1999 | Valley Pools & Spas celebrates 25th anniversary, inducted into Aqua Hall of Fame, and provided the pool to hold the hull of the Titanic! |
| 1998 | Opened second store and celebrated 10 years as a Marquis Spa Dealer with more than 10,000 customers. Received BioGuard Dealer Success Story Award for outstanding achievement in building customer loyalty. |
| 1995 | Employee won the Minnesota State Commendation for Quality Service Award. |
| 1988 | Became a Marquis Spa Dealer. Hilary's First Year as APSP Local Chapter President |
| 1985 | Received Kafko Pool Award of the Year. |
| 1984 | 3,500 customers strong, became a BioGuard Dealer and a The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) member. |
| 1982 | Began selling and installing portable spas. |
| 1981 | Moved to a third location on Cliff Road in Burnsville. |
| 1979 | Moved to a second, larger store location in Burnsville. |
| 1978 | Opened first store in Burnsville. |
| 1976 | Offered in-ground pools and installation. |
| 1975 | Incorporated Valley Pools. |
| 1974 | Started Valley Pools service store in the Berczyk's home and garage. |
